I met Elise a few years ago when I shot a wedding for her family in Asheville, NC. I loved working with her family then, and I knew that her wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida would be amazing. What I love about being a being a destination wedding photographer is that it gives me the opportunity to meet such amazing people and to see such beautiful places. Generally when I am going to a wedding I am on an airplane, but this time I was able to take a roadtrip and I drug my dad along so we could spend a little time together, and he could have a mini vacation. When Elise first told me she was having her ceremony and reception at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, all I could think was that it was going to be dark and hard to shoot. Needless to say, and to my surprise, it was absolutely beautiful – with two gorgeous outdoor courtyards that they used for their ceremony and cocktail hour. It is so great to have the opportunity to get to know your clients, particularly when you see them at multiple events, I hope to see them all again in the future!
