I love DC, part of me thinks I could move to DC. Being a Destination Wedding Photographer I love traveling to new places, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures… DC has always always been one of my favorite cities in the US, I have family that lives outside of the city so I have gotten a chance to explore and really experience the city. I met Shannon and Will at a Destination Wedding wedding I shot in Florence Italy, Shannon was a bridesmaid and she is absolutely beautiful (Will is pretty damn cute too). When I found out they were getting married in DC, I knew I had to shoot their wedding! Be sure to check out all of their wedding pictures below and a big thanks to Amber Holritz for shooting with me!
Be sure to check out all of Shannon and Will’s Images HERE!
I always love the “getting ready” part of a wedding day, but I have to say…this group was particularly fun that morning. A gorgeous bride, beautiful bridesmaids, and lots and lots of laughing. It doesn’t really get any better than that! (And as a bonus…we are all pretty darn comfortable with each other by the time we head to the ceremony!)
The guys didn’t disappoint that day, either. Champagne toasts, a LOT of snapchat, sharing ridiculous stories (Amber has tons of blackmail information now!), and more ironing I’ve ever done in my entire life.
This one was a first…how often do you see a groom jumping rope with the locals on his wedding day?
I’m not sure who was anticipating the ceremony more! These girls were SO adorable!
Shooting at Georgetown? Definitely a pleasure. It is beautiful from every angle.
Shannon and Will were awesome and created plenty of time for fun couples portraits in between the ceremony and reception. We started off with a few images right outside of the chapel, and then we hopped on the party bus (where the party really did get started!), and then we headed to the Tidal Basin for a few more!
The weather gods were most definitely on our side that day. The rain was threatening, which ran off the majority of the tourists and gave us plenty of room to play, but it held off until we were finished up. We didn’t feel a drop until we were walking back to the bus!
The reception was at the Army Navy club. Such a gorgeous ballroom for a wedding.
And I can’t wrap this up without giving this entire group a giant gold star for their dance moves. Seriously.
